Every year we sell about half of our grape crop to other wineries (and a few home winemakers.) We expect to have Russian River Valley Syrah available in 2012. Here is a description of the grapes:

RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY SYRAH - 5-10 TONS.
21 year old vines planted on hillside and bench alluvial gravelly clay loam soils (Haire & Positas soil series.) Yield: 2.6 tons/acre. Harvest: typically mid-October.
Cool climate character: spicy, peppery, blackberry aromas and flavors.
High scores and gold medals awarded to Alegria Vineyard-designated Syrahs produced by Acorn, Lost Canyon, Stark, and Wellington.
Clones: McDowell Valley old clone, Certified Shiraz (FPS 1), Chapoutier (aka Estrella), Durell FPS 8), and 877 (FPS 7). Rootstock: mostly 5C.
